I prefer using Yesasia as method to get stuff like this when it is actually available there i mean you get free shipping and with that is tax included and if you buy 2 Japanese DVD titles you get a free casule toy yes from the popular Jump series of course and they used to ship much faster than CD Japan.

And with my last order from CDJ i had to pay 35 euro's tax while waiting more than a month so that made my W3 set go up to 170 and i just only watched the first dvd yet ...

I recently orded quite some stuff from Yesasia and in one week time they only have to get one more thing to ship it so much faster because they actually ship with the normal standard while on CDJ you would kinda choose for shipping metod SAL wich could take verry long but when choosing a difrent method it could get very expensive.

 Cdjapan just informed me that neither of the 24 hour sets are available! The Animerama is in processing at this time; I expect I will have it sometime next week.

BUMMER. Hope they refunded ya.

I hate it when that happens. Like when I pre-ordered The World Ends With You on Walmart.com - the day it was released, the website had a big "OUT OF STOCK" banner on it. SAY WHAAAAT? Cancelled order and bought it on Amazon. (Came in the next day - eat it WalMart!) /rant

Be sure to post some screens, dude!

Also, if I read correctly you were having problems with sub files? VLC media player is free and you can add sub files while playing the movie. (It also plays ISOs without the need to mount them). It's also rather tidy and nice for playing my PAL ISOs. (Oh Professor Layton, why must region locks keep you away from my DVD player?)

I have not messed with the subs files for a while now. I will try again, later.

Well that sucks have to search some other place for it then or are they just not at the moment right now ?

I want to buy all of tezuka dvds but there so freaking expensive compared to american/european/australian dvds that i buy here and there a set but i definitely wanna have them all.

But etleast 6 of those movies have been released in one cheap italian set that i alreday own is called 'Tezuka Osamu momerial box' or so
i think i only have to get one set from the 24 hour dvds so i would suggest going also for that first .

No kidding about being expensive. I recently decided to buy 6 boxsets or so and it's gonna cost $1000, so I decided to ask for more hours at my job. :d oh: I'll try concentrating on the newer "For the first time on DVD" releases for now, you never know when the older ones might get their next reissue and be also announced for Blu-ray.

A tip I can suggest is to try buying from countries other than Japan when possible. (except Triton of the Sea as the Taiwan boxset is missing the pilot) I'll do that for the 2009 Jungle Emperor special from Taiwan, and MW (Hong Kong even has English subs), though I'll probably have less extras. But personally, the only thing that bothers me about extras is that for some releases, you pay the same price but don't get them, because you missed out on one of the first press copies! MW Chapter 0 and Astro Boy live-action are like that. For the insanely priced Astro Boy in particular it's gonna be painful to know I missed out on that custom case (and possibly booklet, not sure) at that price.

I did not know that the Astro Boy live-action even had released anything other than the boxed set. I kick myself every time I think about having missed out on it only because I was hoping for a PRICED DOWN RE-RELEASE. :p

Talk about expensive, that ARALE-CHAN boxed set is over $600 for 74 episodes! :d evil:

Yeah, probably just a different case though. As for the regular version, I wouldn't say you entirely missed it, it's still available on yesasia and Amazon. ;)

Looks like this topic has now become the Tezuka DVDs from Japan thread.

:p Thank you for telling me, F-man! I too often forget to use google to translate to Japanese to use Amazon.co.jp! & its a goo $30 less than CD Japan!

EDIT: I have ordered the live action set. Did somebody just now change the SMILIES menu?

Awesome! Will you take pictures of the box set itself? I'm trying to figure out what's the difference between the custom case (as noted as "first press" on cdjapan) and regular case, and which one Amazon is selling, but can't find any good and detailed images through Google! :d oh:

And apparently, the smilies change positions on their own.
