Lookin' for a list of movies

I need everyone's help with somethin'...

I am sorta in a predicament... someone very close to me is not doing so well right now, and I am trying to help. Going out has been somewhat of an struggle for her and she has asked me to find her some movies to pass the time. Her and I are complete opposites when it comes to entertainment. So I ask all of you for your help... I need a list of movies to locate for her... and I have no idea where to begin.
She appreciates the following genres: Romance, Comedy, Adventure... pretty much anything that does not include some sort of violence or action. She's also a little older therefor teeny-bop flicks may not be sufficient. I don't want to resort to a search engine to help me since this is for someone very important in my life. What I need is feedback from real people with real opinions, not a typical star rating.

Please and thanks.

Cheers,

Novacain

I would suggest The Princess Bride, as it is probably the best romantic adventurous comedy there is. But chances she hasn't already seen it (or anyone for that matter) are rather low. :p

Another really big classic is Edward Scissorhands.

Try out the recent Adjustment Bureau, it's really good! Features Matt Daemon who falls in love with a girl, but it wasn't part of The Plan, so angels in the form of bureau agents try to change his destiny, which he fights against.

There's also Stranger than Fiction. Now that I think about it, it sounds somewhat similar. A guy starts hearing the voice of the writer who is writing his life, but the story may be a tragedy, which he doesn't want because he fell in love and started having focus in his life and learning emotions. The guy is played by Will Ferell in the only movie I have ever seen actually really act. Like Johnny Depps in Scissorhands, Ferell's eyes alone speak so much, he's really amazing in this.

The Princess Bride is a viewed feature.. and I'm not so sure she'd be a fan of Edward Scissorhands...
Thank you for the other suggestions :) I will definitely check those out!
