HDTV

For three or 4 years, I have been viewing standard def TV on a 16:10 GATEWAY 22" monitor, & was fairly convinced that any screen size < 32" was too small to justify HDTV. But I just bought a 27" ASUS monitor & as it has only HD connectors, I began recording HD programs. I was surprised that I could easily see the difference in quality! Moreover, this monitor has a VERY high contrast ratio; my old one's was 1000:1, & B&W programs' darker scenes were highly distorted as the thing simply could not make dark enough images.
The images here are simply outstanding! I never imagined they could be so brilliant!
My main reason for wanting a larger monitor was for the additional 240 pixels in width that I figured would make my 'work' easier, though I really was salivating at the thought of the larger screen for watching movies. What is more is that the GATEWAY's 16:10 & 1680x1050 cropped the video especially on the L & Right edges.
