Have any of you guys gone to a anime convention before?

I was thinking about going to an anime convention and was wondering if you guys could give me some advice. I live in the philadelphia area of PA, USA. if you know any cons in that area or have any advice for attending a con please let me know.

I have been to a con many times in NZ, all I can say is make sure you are prepared for it to be crowded (I get pushed and shoved a lot). Also, plan out ahead of time how much money you will want to have on hand, because there will likely be some stuff that might strike your interest for buying.
I can't offer any advice on which specific con is best to go to, unfortunately.
