Black jack DVDs

Postby -Nick- » 13 years ago

Hey guys.

Just wondering what the best way is to go about starting to buy Black Jack on DVD? I heard the 90s OVA series was released at one point. I'd like to work out which versions/releases are still able to be found etc

Yeah, the 90's series, including the movie, is the only one that came out on DVD with subtitles. I think you can still find all volumes on Amazon even though they're out of print.

This fall a new website is gonna launch for supporting releases of classic anime on DVD, and I'm looking forward to see Tezuka Productions be part of it.

Ebay would have to be the best place for it and yes only the OVA series and the movie was released in the US i got them from ebay for about 70 dollars so a bit more than you would want to pay for it maybe ?

But yeha CentralParkMedia is long gone so what do you want ?

There are 7 volumes of the OVA series but it seems like Amazon has the wrong cover for Parasite. This page should help.

Ok thanks for that.

Is the movie released by Manga connected to the same release or is it just its own standalone thing?

The movie is like a longer episode in the series. In Japan it was released to theaters between the release dates of episode 6 and 7 (after volume 3 then). It's not included in the Central Park Media volumes.
