Good news for all Princess Knight and shojo fans: Princess Knight will be released on DVD in 2013 by RightStuf! The official site is here, but there isn't much up yet.

With RightStuf's release of Revolutionary Girl Utena and recent licensing of The Rose of Versailles, going for the Princess Knight anime certainly seems like a logical choice.

In other news, Vertical also licensed the sequel Twin Knights about two weeks ago, so things are looking really good for Princess Knight fans.

Just read it awesome news happy i din't bought those (bootleg) singles they released in the UK (only the movie segmented version) they did only released about half of it though instead i bought it uncut in Italian.

Only point being it's the American edited version just like with Astro Boy and how the original Kimba anime came to be thanks to NBC, still awesome gonna pre-order it what's next the so called Lost American version of Wonder 3

According to the AnimeNewsNetwork forums, one of the RightStuf execs is trying to find the American dub of The Amazing Three, so there may be hope for it yet!

Either way, this is great news. I'm not a huge fan of Princess Knight, but considering how rare it is for a Tezuka license to get picked up by a mainstream dubbing company these days, I'm glad to see someone has picked it up for availability here in North America.

Dub only, so I don't care in the least.

Doesn't bother me at all, especially since I was interested in checking out the dub after I read the manga, so this is great news for me. Old-school dubs are pretty fascinating.

I do agree with you for a good reason that the Dub isn't even near NBC quality it's actually pretty teribble !!! but what can be done about it let alone edits.

Also on the Ann forums when about all pepole agreed they would rather have it in Japanese uncut with subs than having a dub at all the Rightstuff employee din't react anymore there just to stuborn.

Just how many pepole that saw it in the 60's are even gonna buy it now, there at least gotta be over 55 let alone still know about it, it's run was actually really rare only in certain areas sold off to some local tv stations across the US that din't jump on it like with Astro Boy and Kimba.

I've been reading the ANN topic as well. My feeling is that Right Stuf may be silent because they don't want to admit two things:

1. They could make a separate subbed release, but the sales would not be good enough to recoup the cost of the translation. With a dubbed-only release, the "translation" is already done for them.

2. Sam Pinansky's site which should be launching any day now may have exclusive rights to a subbed version of the show.

I know next to nothing about the dub, Tetsuwan Atom, though from reading your posts, I assume you saw at least a few episodes of it. Would you care to give a few specific critiques?

I saw a movie segmented version of some episodes put together that's the only thing i saw and have from that dub, the thing is the cast acts really cartoonly and to childish they clearly weren't knowing much what it was that's all i can make of it i think.
