 William Castle made horror films that featured gimmicks often intended to heighten the audience's fear at just the right moment. He would have been sued out of business if he tried that these days, but, back to the point. There is a documentary this weekend that tells about his career & the horror films he made. For those who enjoy the contemporary slasher films, this should also be enjoyable.

Yes, TCM is & has been showing blocks of horror films since the beginning of October, & this documentary comes at the beginning of the weekend of horror that TCM runs at the end of every October, & few of these old films will interest the younger members, but this documentary will surely amuse just about everyone. BTW, the 1st film in the lineup is Macabre (1958) in which one of his gimmicks was employed. :p

No; Netflix lists 2 films by that title, 1 from 1993 & the other from 1977; after reading their descriptions, I take it you refer to the John Goodman 1993 one. NF does not have this available at this time, though I now want to see it. Thanks for the info,my friend!
