What do you like to draw

Postby racoonangel » 12 years ago

Of course I enjoy drawing manga and Astro boy. But I also have questions for you what art tool do you like using as well. I like to color my drawing with copic markers, and I also like using a black sharpy for outlining. Not only that I like drawing with pencil first.

this is what copic markers look like for those who haven't seen them. Note if you plan on buying them they are expensive, but worth it. each marker is like 8 dollars. There are also different types of copic markers. They range in a variety of colors in this type of copic i think there are over 200 maybe. I only have 14 but I want some more because they are fantastic markers. Most manga illustraters use them, or any illustrater actually. They are made in Japan ( well that makes total sense) these markers have been around for awhile. I just got copic markers a few days after christmas and I fell in love with them. If you have a micheals near by they sell them there you can also order them online. Copics are good because they never run out of ink, you can buy more ink on the web for your marker each marker has a special number so each color is identified when you order new inks and such here is the link http://www.copicmarker.com/

I like to draw my favorite anime and sometimes cartoon characters. Lately I've been drawing YuGiOh stuff because that's my current fandom at the moment. I start my lineart in pencil, then I use colored pencil for the colors, and then I darken the outlines with pen. Here's and example of a more recent one.

You're not a joke, you fit right in!
So shake it off, and give a grin. Don't be afraid to stand your ground! Crazy, noisy BIZARRE Town!

I like to draw cartoon characters only (from Futurama, Adventure Time, Hetalia). My drawings are more on the western-style side. I suck at drawing flowers and realistic things though :( . I don't care much for the tools I use. As long as it looks purrrty ;) .

I don't like painting as much. It tires my hand.

I don't like to draw realism much, but I do find it very admirable and inspiring seeing other people's realism based drawings. My preferred subject to draw are cartoon characters, especially fan art.

With traditional media, my favourite tools are any clean white paper I can find, black Artline pens of various thicknesses, and COPIC markers. But I work primarily with digital media, so most of my drawings are created in Paint Tool SAI, Adobe Flash or Tegaki. I used to use a DSE tablet, but switched to a Wacom Bamboo tablet when my old tablet stopped working.

I can't say I prefer it since traditional drawings aren't my strong point. Although I have barely painted anything in my life. I suppose I don't have a very strong opinion for or against it because of this. But I remember I used to really enjoy using watercolour pencils and smoothing out the colours with a wet paint brush. Sometimes my digital drawings have a somewhat painterly look to them though.
