Hmpf, not really.
Ten years ago when my first car got stolen I called the cops as soon as I noticed, which would have been within hours of the theft. They took down all my info and that was it. My car sat illegally parked somewhere for
three months before it was located. Meter maids even took the time to slap parking infractions on it. Sad thing is, the city towed it to the impound, held it there overnight before I was even notified. I ended up paying for the tow and an $80 storage fee for the overnight stow.
Victims are always the one that suffer and get punished, unfortunately.

Upon hindsight, I really should quit leaving the spare keys hanging from the rear view mirror as a decoration...

Alright, honesty time. Bad April fools joke.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts!

My car is fine, it's actually in a shop getting repairs done. (Muffler fell off about 3 weeks ago, been drivin' around with an empty paper-towel roll covered in tin foil).
