I went to the dentist for a check up and they said I could get my retainer out. I've had a permenant one for two years now, and I finally got it out yesterday. When they took it out I felt like I had more space in my mouth, yet it felt weird cause I'm so used to having a metal bar in my mouth.

Congrats! I can only imagine how good that feels. Here's to a future of good dental health!

Ugh! I remember having an upper-roof retainer (not sure if that's what it's called, but that's what it was, an internal retainer on the roof of my mouth) for close to a year when I was in 5th grade. Worst dental experience ever. I'm glad you're free!

I can't wait till I get my braces out. Not the same thing but still.
I hate them.

Now your friends can't call you metal month or jaws anymore!

Congratulations! It's definitely a relief to get your braces off. There's such a feeling of freedom afterwards.

Wow cool, I've never had any metal in my mouth myself, but I remember all my friends who were so happy when they were done with their treatments. :D

A little bit different, but I have a wisdom tooth issue, and I'd like it to be behind me, too. I'm slightly worried.

@Astro Forever: Your concern is completely valid. O_O

Ugh, I'm gonna have to take better care of my teeth. I only had a cavity filled once; I do not care to repeat the experience.
