Since we're so close to this tradition why not have fun here?

What are you dressing up as this year? What was your best costume? Pictures? What about your best Halloween ever?

This year I'm combining a fighter pilot costume with zombie makeup and going out as "The Dead Baron."

My best Halloween was in 2006 because I had it twice- Tuesdays that year were basically my Fridays. On the 24th I went to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and had the time of my life (I dressed as Stitch- I'll have to dig out one of the pictures tonight. At least one other person took my picture.) Then, on the 31st, I went to the AMC in Downtown Disney dressed in my Jack Skellington Costume to see "The Nightmare Before Christmas" in 3D. The guy who tore tickets gave me a free box of the then-new Hershey's Kissables for the costume. It was awexome.

They just sent an email TODAY at work about dressing up for Halloween. A few cubes are already covered in fake spider webs.

Despite my advancing age I still have a nearly full covering of hair on my head (Gray, and a bit thin in the middle, but still there.) Maybe I might try and see if I can imitate Tobio's cowlicks with some gel. (I said Tobio, because you'd need CEMENT and a sculpture job with a razor to imitate a good Astro, and I dare anyone to try and do that to themselves with a mirror!).

If I were to dress up this year, I would be robotics engineer for the Ministry of Science (I would only need a white lab coat). Since I would not got trick or treating, I would be more like playing dress up, or pretending to know things about robotics because I am bored. I am such a child sometimes. :) Will not break character, don't even try to make me! Ha ha.
The thing is I would probably pretend on just a regular day to (when no one is listening). I just too lazy.

Well, I tried fooling with the hair jel and ended up with a mess that might look like what Tezuka's hair looked like when he got out of bed. Just not long enough to fake cowlicks. Who am I kidding at my age anyway?

BTW Mrs Eclipse, I'd love to see a picture of that Dead Baron cosplay.

A tip for mastering some crazy lift with hair (spikes, mohawks, and flips);

Use Got2b brand gel particularly the Got2b Glued line. I use this stuff to get some wild styles for anime wigs. It's easy to use and doesn't flake off, and washes out very easily. It also LASTS all day long which is a must. If you put it on a wig and you don't wash it at all it will stay forever.

This year I decided to go with a Catrina makeup instead of full fabrication. My camera is REALLY bad (just a laptop webcam) so a lot of the detail is impossible to see. But still, lots of fun.

This is me and my partner whom I also gave a Catrina, though theirs is a jade color base.

I tried to make a last minute outfit of Daisuke Jigen. But it turned out looking more like a character from that laughably bad Amish Mafia TV show. Oh well... :shifty:

WOW!! :w00t: Earthshine, you and your partner look AWESOME!!

Once - a long time ago -- on a Halloween far, far away (Like 1980) I was a killer Princess Leia. Skinny enough - but my hair wasn't long enough to make the "buns" - so I purchased a couple of skeins of brown yarn, braided them up, and pinned them over my ears. I made the gown out of old sheets. I even have Carrie Fisher's face-shape (back then, that is . . . i was in my 20's :p ). I've got blue eyes, but in the dark they look brown -

I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!!! At that point I could pretty much recite the entire (first) movie - so people would quote scenes and I'd speak Leia's lines. ;) Only one guy didn't know who I was - he thought I was a telephone operator :eek: :rolleyes: :whistling:

As for Halloween 2013, I just got back from choir practice, and we had our own special "effects" -- are REALLY BIG bat was with us for most of the rehearsal time = nearly conking the choir director in the head a few times! :o hmy:

Finally I put on my jacket and pulled the hood up over my head! :ninja: I know bats are our friends, but they do tend to dive bomb at me (I think it's the curly hair!) :cry:
