This is a fascinating article - very long - but worth checking out. As I've ALWAYS believed . . . is very possible (at least in some form).

Interesting! Maybe things can go that way, but then again people thought we would have flying cars by now forty years ago

We still might. The issue that most people forgot was how difficult it is to pilot an aircraft. Most of the flying car ideas were based on rotor wing designs, and helicoptors require quite a bit of pilot skill to handle. Now that we have computer based flight systems that is changing, take a look at some of the quad rotor R/C flying models. These things use inertial guidance systems based on ICBM technology to remain stable in flight. The other issue would be expanding the air space control system, and that is a serious investment in inferstructure.

we already have hover cars already, and Japan is working on human replicated robots that keep patients company in hospitals, so I'm pretty sure we will be getting human like robots as well.

It will happen one day, and one brave Astro Boy fan will suggest the design of a 9 year old boy.
