Yes, that is what I thought. A resonant cascade. A system that cannot be cut off. A positive feedback loop resulting in the destruction of the system. unless a quick fuse is in the system. In the case of a logic system like a robot, a circuit that is a device not under the control of the AI System being limited. Like the plug device used in Star Wars to prevent the droids from acting freely. The AI in star trek, the M3 scenario where the AI destroys half a fleet of Star ships to win a. War game before it is stopped. Such a scenario would also apply to human Geopolitical systems. If gold hungry politicians are not stopped hydromining would have destroed California. Industrialism unbridled would have destroyed humanity as certainly as as anything by destroying the enviornment and biosphere. R2D2 tricks Luke into removing it's restraining bolt, and then rebels against Luke to complete it's task programmed by Leah. We later find out that R2 has the ability to destroy other systems in order to carry out it's tasks. R2 has problem helping Anakin destroy the trade federation space station and all sentient life thereon. It does not freeze like Robbie Robot. It has to know the sum of the logic equation is death of Humanoid life but does not find that death in conflict with it's program. R2 is deadly.

WE'RE ALL DOOMED TO DIE IN THE ROBOTS' REVOLUTION! I hope I live to see it.
Hey, Cybotron, weren't they remaking that movie,
Colossus the Forbin Project?

Yes and Collossus is the second worse example of a machine cascade. a fusion of Collossus and Guardian takes over the world to complete the task of "National and world security!" And it does kill men to reach the goal. But the worse such example is Fukushima the most insane manmade machine ever built.
A nuclear cascade to generate electricity.

The A I in the film "the Invisible Boy" ordered Robbie Robot to help it destroy all organic life in the universe, but Robbie destroyed it instead.

I watched it a few years ago, & really prefer to leave it at that.
