I actually picked up this tin figure in a random store a while ago
this is the original tin figure that was produced in Japan for America in the 1950/1960's this couldn't be called ''Robby the robot'' so they called it Planet Robot.
The store had no idea what they actually had because it was 20 euro's a steal :ninja: usally you woudn't find things like this in The Netherlands but i was lucky i guess.

Oh BTW, both Robbie and Astro were inducted into the Robot Hall of Fame in 2004.

Also the same man, Robert Kinoshita, that designed Robbie also designed the robot from lost in space. I think he is of Japanese decent. I think he is still living at age 100.

You know too much! :d evil:

Tetsuwan Atom: Have you priced that model lately?

Tetsuwan Penguin: There is an image on the forum somewhere about a MAN FROM UNCLE film that used Robby's dome as part of a larger machine.

I'm a bit puzzled what you mean by the word ''priced'' since it could have several meanings.
If you mean if i have it appraised how much its worth, i haven't done so yet.
That might be a good idea but since it isn't gonna make me a millionaire i wasn't planning to sell it.

Yes, the current value; it might be interesting to know, even if you have no intention to sell it.
