You need to be aware of TRIHALOMETHANE in your water. it is a mutigen and carcinogen. a by product of disinfectant. as population increases Ecole and human biologics increase in shrinking water systems. Disinfectant must be increased to control biological contamination. TRIHALOMETHANE INCREASES WITH DISINFECTANT.

My friend is working on a way to kill bacteria using sugar. Maybe that could solve the problem in the future?

I knew a guy who was an entomologist, & though his field was insects, he was a scientist. I recall him saying that sugar should be avoided when we are ill, as viri (the correct plural of 'virus')thrive on it.

Well Flint has to go back to using Detroit's water again I guess! And replace a bunch of pipes, too. I just hope no one is permanently damaged by lead poisoning.

interesting. Bacteria thrive in sugar! Poison sugar? well anyway, people have died. it's probably an enemy itelligence operation. 1st rule of an army is to secure the potable water supply! These clowns cannot hold water! the water supply is gone!
meanwhile, here is a piece I did some years ago for my Empathy album...

I don't know much about the sugar thing, except that it has to do with enzymes and getting the sugar molecule into a specific shape.

If I was taking over the world, I'd definitely do something with the water. I really hope it was just plain stupidity. The Flint water crisis is a reminder how vulnerable we all are! That could have been my water supply. Now I know why my parents keep gallons of emergency water in the basement. Better safe than sorry.

Bacteria thrive on sugar because it is their food, same as ourselves ;) However they have a hard time thriving on pure sugar, because there is no water. It kills them the same way as salt does, unless they have some kind of protection against that (which is not the case for most).

And for virii thriving on sugar I have some real doubts. While they certainly can use it as food, I don't really see how they can multiply on it because they need a host to multiply (except some special cases of virii/bacteria hybrids). So while they could make use of it, they would remain rather harmless.
