my mom suffered a stroke

That was last month, but since then, she has been going around for catscans, MRIs, etc. So, yesterday, the MRI. As the stroke damaged her vision in left eye, I have been driving her around. So, during the MRI, they injected dye, & for whatever reason, maybe a reaction to the dye, they had to stop, and send her to the hospital.

cutting to the chase, they released her --> home, I was relieved, wanting to be helpful, she sitting kitchen table, dinner on her plate. snowing, guy who shovels --> front door. I go to answer, she she just had to get up. I said, warmer weather tomorrow, no need shovel; but she insisted, civic duty, have sidewalk shoveled, no matter that nobody was out in the mix of snow & freezing rain, she wanted to haggle with the guy. she fell to floor! cried out! by the time I saw her, she was up, & he had her by both arms. I did not know she actually fell to floor, she did not say, he did not say. :d evil: I obviously had no need or right to know! So, bedtime, she still said nothing about rib pain, but wanted sleep in recliner. 5 Am, I awaken, just happen to hear her coughing, go check, just in case. She now finally, says ribs hurt, and she did fall to floor! --> 911 --> hospital. I am still at home; cursing her for her silence. Just called hosp., she in xray. Stupid depression era thinking, suffer in silence.   Likely broken ribs.

Funny/ironic, yesterday, just called sister, talked about mom ought to give up house & move in with daughter. Just called her again, 6am, pretty much same discussion + cursing mom's silence.

I am crippled; I do all I can. BTW, mom has 3 broken ribs & is now at home with pain killers, but no actual treatment. Apparently, that is all they do these days. Both sisters are now here, as mom cannot lift herself out of a chair, & I cannot help her with that.

Wow, your mom's treatment seems a little underwhelming! I'll pray for her.

 Thanks all; right now, mom is able to lift herself out of her office chair; not likely though able to do so with her recliner. My sister wrapped a scarf around the ribs as mom had to keep pressure on them while rising, & as such could not use arms to press down on arm rests.
