This film is controversial in that :tezuka: according to Fred Schodt claimed it was based upon Atom's B&W episode Bacteria Corps. Without a doubt, :tezuka: did write/draw stories about shrunken humans entering the patient's body to perform a cure decades before FV, beginning with Tuberculosis way back in the late 40s, as I recall.

BTW, FUTURAMA'S PARASITES LOST seems much more like a ripoff of Tezuka's stories, than FV!

Was that one of the episodes that was 'really' lost in that the film had been destroyed?

Oh and don't forget the 2003 episode that had Atom shrunk down inside of Uran. (But that was AFTER FV, but you can't help reusing a good plot device).

Well, the biggest 'ripoff' would have been Spiellberg's "A.I."

No, this episode, number eighty-something, as I recall, was never lost. Tezuka had others make the animated version of Midoro Marsh (I think?) & hated it; demanded all copies be destroyed. Video portions of #127 & one other were lost, most of #125 (I think?) Atom sitting on the giant hypo, video lost.

I had been watching the TV series of VTTBoTS, but, as the DVDs were 2 sided, there were often playback problems, with borrowed from NF.
I recall some science guy reaming it out, as especially anti-science. :p
