I read about this episode and it looked interesting, I just wondered if it got a name change. Because I checked Episode 54 in english and it wasn't the same episode. Help?

:tenma: : COME BACK TOBIO! MWAHAHA!
:astro: : You reject me cause you were stupid enough not to realize I can't grow, and now suddenly you want me back! How many more adaptations are we gonna go through with this!? :d oh:
:tenma: : AS LONG AS IT TAKES!

Unfortunately, episode #54 "Duel On The Alps" only aired in Japan and hasn't been dubbed in english in the first place.

In this case, #54 refers to the original japanese order, which is different from the english release. Thus, the english dub has #54 listed as 'The Man-Made Iceberg' (which, in fact, is #63 in the japanese episode listing).
Jeffbert may provide you with further detailed information to this episode:

Didn't they cover this story in the manga as well? I've not read that far yet? And was Astro in a tutu at any point? :hyo:

P.S thanks Strange Wings for the info *glomps* :3

Yes, the story part about Tenma interfering in Astro's family got featured in the manga too, but only very hasty throughout 4 pages (it's in the story "Meeva", pages 203 - 206, Astro Boy DarkHorse release #20). Sure enough, the 60's series' version is far more detailed.

As for Astro appearing in a tutu, I only can recall AB DarkHorse volume #23, story "Space Doll". The very last frame shows Astro wearing a gown, although not quite a tutu, it's pretty near the mark. :D

I like being glomped!

Ah, they did something a little like that in 2003 although with brainwashing but the concept of Tenma wanting Astro to be Tobio was the same.

Only 4 pages!? Aw it should've been much longer. I wonder if that Jap episode is up somewhere  i might try and find it.

Tutu, gown, what's the difference? They're all the same! x3

Reaaaally? >_>...(wiggles closer)....<_<....:3 (glomps again)

Hmm, this sure seems familiar, but I have no recollection of uploading anything about this episode to Tezuka in English. :p
