Hello, has anyone here heard of National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo)?
My mother and I are participating in the writing thingamabob, and I was just wondering if anyone else here could be participating? (No, what I mean is are you already participating. XD)

I have participated a few years ago, but won't do it again. It was fun and very constructive, and I don't regret it. However I can't give away a month of rush writing.
For the ones who didn't do it yet, I advise to give it a try

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

I participated several times and I actually won twice! Nanowrimo is easy to win if you really stay disciplined about writing at least 2,000 words per day, every single day. I write stories all year long, so it just takes me an hour or so to crank that out. The trick is, finding something to write about every single day, especially when you get hit with writer's block. Furthermore, you have to throw off all the distractions, phone calls, TV, text messages, and close yourself off from the rest of the world, while you're writing. It's fun!

*nod* Its kind of hard to think of what to write after a while. There are so many people on the website, that I can't even get on.
The genre of my novel will either be drama or teens and young adults.

Well, I got my first 2,078 words in for today. You almost have to set aside the same time every day to write. The whole thing is a matter of discipline. Just say, for example, you will make time, every evening, from 7PM to 8:30PM every day during the month of November to write. You won't text or chat or read or watch any TV at all. You'll just lock yourself up in your bedroom and write your novel until you finished your 2,000 words for the day. That really is the only way to win this thing.

I just finished my novel. =3 I've been awake all night. My mom finished her novel before I did, a whole week before me. She actually stay up all night to cheer me on. She played some music on her laptop for us to listen to. =3 It was fun. I plan on writing a sequel to my story next year.
