Event Test in Omega Factor

Postby Dr. Jerk » 14 years ago

Caution: Possible spoilers.

I've been in the progress of writing a game script guide of Astro Boy: Omega Factor. For such a short and easy game, it's dialog/content is literally massive. The game has this menu in the options menu called Event Test. Conversations and the like are referred to as events, and you can get a full listing of all events of the game in the Event Test menu provided you have encountered them.

There is a total of 245 events. I've been replaying the game several times to record most of the scripts, and while I have most of it recorded, I'm unfortunately missing several events, which I'll be needing to locate if I want my guide to be complete.

I'm missing the following numbered events:

27
37
73
80
99
145
And 222

I doubt many of you played Omega Factor, let alone played a lot of it, but I could really use some help. Does anyone mind if they could go to their Event Test menu and see if the numbers are there for you, then explain to me what exactly is being said in each event so that I could locate and record them? It would really mean a lot, and I'll credit anyone who helps in my guide.

I do know that I am missing this specific event but will be getting to it, hopefully:
- Someone who mentions that Black Jack is Rainbow Parakeet's client (I cannot remember where exactly that was said, help on this would also be nice)

But obviously, I'm still missing quite a bit.

Thanks...

...Many people like to have an entire game's dialog script on hand for reference and the like, especially if some games have a lot of content. Basically what happens when you first encounter an event for the first time, it gets recorded into the Event Test menu so that you can view it again anytime.

Except I've noticed that 22 hadn't recorded itself even though I did see that event, I had to find the event in question again to get it recorded into the menu.

92:

My Hyper Sensors are detecting something!
Somebody must be nearby.

110:

Astro, be more careful!
The tent can't take much more damage!

118:
Is this...
an artificial hibernation capsule?
Atlas, you know this woman, don't you?
Who is she? Why do I feel like I know her?
I can't remember...
Aaah! My head is about to split!
We have to postpone our battle, Astro!
Wait! Atlas!
What a shame...
You must evolve Astro!
Dr. Tenma!
Learn and evolve, Astro!
The power is within you!
But Doctor! Wait!

137:
You must be Astro. I've heard a lot about you.
I have no intention of fighting you, Blue Knight!
We must stop Carabs now! That's our top priority! So let me through!
Hmm... OK.
Let's stop Carabs!

Odd, I could have sworn that I had numbers 92 and 110, I guess the game failed to record them again.

Either way, thank you very much F-Man! I'll just have to pray that someone has the other numbers.

At least they're in level order, so that could help a lot in finding them.

Looking at it now, you're right.

And after checking again, there's apparently more numbers that I am missing. I'm not sure why I hadn't noticed them. Makes me wonder if the game is losing data on its own. <_< Hopefully not.

No, I'm pretty sure I'm just really confusing myself.
