Well, she has an account at this Chinese site that is the Chinese equivalent of youtube. She had uploaded some subs there after those were taken off from youtube.

Edit: Ninja'd by F-Man.

Do you know where this Chinese site is?

I know I'm not Dr. Jerk, but I'll go ahead and answer this one.

You can find the episodes at Tudou. If you search "astro boy sub", you'll be able to find them. She goes by the name TotalFailure on that site.

Hope that helps.

Uh, try asking F-Man... Something keeps telling me that it might not be Tudou, but Shiyonasan is probably right.

Actually, I'm anti-illegal, and pro-buying stuff, so don't ask me. :P

Yeah. I'm making almost no profit on these, just selling for the price it cost me. I originally wanted to order multiple copies of each volume to save interested people on shipping, but it turns out there were only one copy of each of the early volumes.

What a shame about the early volumes. I'm sure a lot of people would love to buy those since they're the only consistent releases of any Astro Boy series that have the Japanese language track with English subtitles (unless the North American and Australian DVDs did. I don't know since I've never owned those DVDs). I know I would if I had the money.

Good luck on selling them.

The North American 80's boxset does too, but it's missing the complete first two episodes. Those two with subtitles are included in the Australian boxset, but the latter is English only for all other episodes. So it's like you can't win with either of them. :d oh: But the US set is close to being perfect.

Never knew that about the North American boxset. For some reason, I looked that box set up on different retailers and it said it didn't have that option. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places. Hmm... maybe I'll purchase that box set in the near future. Too bad it's missing the full first two episodes though...

You know, it's really unfortunate that Astro Boy doesn't have a release of any of the three anime series with all of the episodes in Japanese with English subtitles. Most other anime have that option now, but Astro Boy just can't seem to get a good release with that option. If only a company like FUNimation or Manga Entertainment could release a DVD box set with the entirety of any of the three anime series with the Japanese language track with English subtitles. If only...

Astro Boy never really all was that popular. Of course it was pretty popular back with the 60's and 80's series, but not an awful lot, and those times have passed now. And as such, not all of the series will get subbed. We were lucky with what we have.

And the 2003 series' rights are owned by Sony, so they don't ever sub it nor will they allow any other company to do so.

We're more or less a cult following.

Wow. Becoming a fan of this series is like diving into a murky lake. You think know what the lake is like from the outside, but really, you don't know what lies beneath.

I say it again. That is really unfortunate. Coming from my Dragon Ball fandom, I thought I would find a decent release of Astro Boy with that option. I come from a cult following of foreign fans (foreign to Japan) that like the Japanese version of Dragon Ball. It took us a while to get a decent release from FUNimation with the Japanese version, but it finally happened about a year and a half ago. Of course, Dragon Ball is a lot more popular than Astro Boy, and FUNimation is a lot different than Sony. I guess I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I became a fan of Astro Boy this month.

Like you said though, we're lucky with what we have. You take what you can get I guess. I still like this series, but I think it's going to take a while for me to settle in to this "cult following"...
