I received all the new stuff from Amazon! (and paid $340 in import duties :sick :)

I am glad to say that against all odds, MW Chapter 0 is the first press! It's even written "初回限定生産仕様" (Limited Spec) on a paper banner enveloping the front of the box. :D As for Mighty Atom, I guess we'll never know? But considering this was a limited 1 year release, my guts tell me that the whole release is the first press.

I received Microid S a day earlier, and already watched the first 6 episodes. It's pretty good, even excellent if you compare it to, say, Triton of the Sea. (I really have difficulty watching Triton XD)

"jeffbert" wrote:Let me know what stories are on them! I have two Lion Books, volumes 6 & 7, which have the stories that gave their plots to 4 of the B&W episodes. I hope to include references to these in my book.

This topic should answer your questions: http://forums.tezukainenglish.com/viewtopic.php?t=2613

EDIT: Taking cue from the MW 0 DVD, I looked at the banner of the Atom set properly and saw "初回限定特典:美麗アウターケース付き" (Limited benefit: custom case) :D

I also have Triton, & have watched the entire series; I cannot recall any disappointment with the series other than the lack of guest stars.

I just checked my copy of the MICROID S series web page, & it has not episode synopsis on it. Maybe the new site's page for it does. I know Dr. Midoro appears in AB, or was it BJ somewhere, but I cannot recall where. :p

That's pretty cool this came out in Germany and in subtitled version too. Do you know any other Tezuka DVDs that came out outside of Japan in their original version?

I know these:

One (or maybe all) Australian boxsets for Astro Boy 1980 have episodes 1-2
Half of Astro Boy 2003 in Korea
MW in Hong Kong
Phoenix 2772 in Australia and France
Phoenix Live-Action in Chile and Spain
Sleeping Bride in the UK
Triton of the Sea series (minus pilot film) in Taiwan
Triton of the Sea Theatrical version in Taiwan and Hong Kong
Don Dracula in Italy and Spain
TV Specials (Marine Express, Bander Book, Prime Rose, Bagi, Fumoon and Bremen 4), Marvelous Melmo, The Monkey series, Princess Knight in Italy.
The Adventures of Sinbad, Doggie March in Spain.
(Everything above has subs in English or other.)
Jungle Emperor 2009 Special in Taiwan
Tezuka's Last Mystery of the 20th Century in Taiwan (really good DVD!) and Hong Kong (forced Chines subs according to jeffbert, not recommended)
The Three-Eyed One series in Taiwan

EDIT: forgot to mention I was ignoring the US stuff, cause we all know about it anyway :p

I already have everything else available from Italy except for Princess Knight wich i'm defenetly going to pick up but first reading the manga in english from Vertical would be a good idea.

The only thing wich i don't understand is why Bible stories was never relased on DVD in Italy because that even was a Italian requested series i do have the Spanish version but it seems kinda bootleg ... besides there was no Japanse track on it.

(you mean "bucks," bugs are insects!!)

So you don't know any others then? I found Cleopatra from Germany as well but I don't know its specs. Amazon says dub only but you can't really trust Amazon with specs. Couldn't find A Thousand & One Nights strangely.

Oh and I found these as well since last time:

Ravex in Tezuka World, Jungle Emperor 1989 in Hong Kong.
Boku no Son Goku 2003, Black Jack Special, Black Jack TV, Black Jack Two Doctors of Darkness, Black Jack 21 in Taiwan.
Princess Knight and Monkey King are also available in Taiwan as well as being in Italy.

This one is indeed hard to trust, being Region 0... and not available on dvdgo.com. DVDGo has the series in two volumes in Spanish/Italian from a different distributor.

It's too bad that first one is out of stock though... Even though it might be a bootleg, it had the English dub and was probably cheaper than getting the Japanese discs.

And good thing you din't mentioned the Black Jack OVA from malaysia because it is the greatest crap ever if that isn't bootleg than there standard is pretty teribble because after 3 episodes it crashes though the box art and disc art looked pretty nice.

OFF TOPIC, but I reordered the 24 hour sets, as they are still not listed as OUT OF PRINT, though I doubt they will ship.

play Asia has it still set on 5-15 days though i had to go to some weird amercan website to get Osamu Tezuka's theme song collection verry overpriced
i cuess i have to order the 24 hours set soon i only have to get the 1983-1989 and that's about all the stuff that will be verry hard to find.

I don't think there are others well play Asia claims to have a single of 1001 nights and none else has it so i cuess i have to throw that in the mix as well since i have the other 2 movies separate.

If only the 1989 Kimba series where still available or blue bink thoug i don't even know what it is about exactly

As I said 1989 Kimba is out in Hong Kong. yesasia lists it as Jungle Emperor Leo.

Oh by the way, this symphonic poem soundtrack, while it has Japanese narration over the music on the CD, the narration is replaced with either Japanese or English subtitles on the DVD (so you can enjoy the music alone, as it should be). I actually had ordered this with my other DVDs recently. I think this is the only Tezuka DVD I know from Japan that has English subtitles.
