Was KicsterAsh the original artist? Because I've seen that picture many times on the 'net. It may have been copied by quite a few people. It's a famous pose, and Tezuka could have drawn Atom like that somewhere. In fact, he is in that very pose on a copy of a Japanese printed collection, it's on page 121 of McCarthy's book on Tezuka.

I'm pretty sure that the pose is copied- it's a very good copy, but that's definitely KicsterAsh's picture. it's signed in the corner; I believe it said on her dA that it was for an art project in school or something?

It's possible. Cobalt mimics the pose in one of the panels in his debut story, one of his first appearances, and certainly the first where he is aware and coherent.

That's from a set of wallpapers that the Tokyo Denki University did with Tezuka Productions for their own "Project Atom" (they used Atom as a spokesperson for their courses on their website a few years back). They had about a half dozen images made with this 3D model of Atom, most with his eyes shut. There were two done with his eyes open, I cut out the image of him in the flying pose and pasted it onto a transparent layer with the Gimp after flipping it over, to make my latest avatar.

I wonder if it would be possible to use a combination of all of the 3D images to somehow create a 'pattern' to run through a 3D printer?
