I mean that rather than only the mouths moving as they speak, everything moves.

Well, yeah. Again, motion capture. People don't sit still when they talk, right?

This show IS motion-captured, right? I read it somewhere...

Yes. It is motion captured. And I believe you're right that it's mostly improv as well.

I'm still trying to figure out where the non Tezuka characters come from. I know now that three of them are from Yatterman.

Just watched Episode 7. Pretty good episode with Atom doing (or attempting to do) voice-over work for a commercial. I find it funny how they made Atom a little more full of himself than in the actual Astro Boy anime. It's pretty amusing not to see Atom as his usual polite self in my opinion.

At the beginning of the second skit (which is three parts long), Black Jack, Sapphire, and Yatterman 2 draw Astro Boy. The results are pretty fantastic.

Also, it's funny how they gave Sapphire a male voice.

They're all from different Tatsunoko Production series. Besides Yatterman, Yatterman 2, Boyacky, and Doronjo (all from the Yatterman series), I believe the other ones are Casshan, Gold Lightan, and Hakushon Daimao.

Well considering the original idea behind princess knight was that she had to impersonate a prince, the male voice (actually a female voice in reverse falsetto) fits her character.

Isn't the character's name "Casshern"?

I've been thinking I should watch that.

Are there any other episodes with Atom or Cobalt in it? I purposefully don't watch them unless I know that either one of them is in it. Although I'm not a big fan of Atom's... new attitude, myself.

He can be called "Casshern" OR "Casshan". The katakana for his name is "Kasshaan" / キャシャーン, so the extended A can go either way. It's like how some Captain Harlock series have him known as "Herlock": a new way to identify him, sometimes just to mark it as being in a different universe.

Unrelated, but I honestly feel like the Cobalt fans should be grateful that he's in this. I see so many people on here look into a new incarnation, and just complain that Cobalt's not there. He hasn't been relevant in any canon since the 1970s, and the fact that he turned up in any form at all should be enough.

I was definitely happy about Cobalt's appearance in this show. The bit about trains was brilliant. And I personally enjoyed Astro's attitude. It's just so preposterously out of character that it added an extra dimension of comedy to the skits that wouldn't be there if it was just some random character. My favorite thing about the show is that it doesn't sound scripted at all. If it did, the crazy conversations would be more boring than funny. In this regard I think the short with the expensive printer is my favorite so far.

Just watched Episode 11. Atom appears in the first skit along with Triton from Triton of the Sea. I still find it amusing how Atom's personality in Peeping Life is practically polar opposite to how he is normally. He asks where the chicks are in this episode, which I believe he also did in a previous episode.

Episode 12 is the final episode. It's already available to premium users, but will become available to everyone else on December 26. Atom and Ochanomizu once again appear in the first skit.
