Candi Milo and Mari Shimizu meet at SDCC 2025

A pretty cool moment for Astro Boy fans everywhere: two voices for Atom/Astro met for the first time ever at San Diego Comic-Con 2025! Candi Milo, who voiced Astro in the 2004 American dub of the 2003 Astro Boy anime, and Mari Shimizu, the original voice of Atom in the 1960s through the 1980s (notably in the 1963 and 1980 Astro Boy anime), met at a panel called "Cartoon Voices 1" where voice actors for classic cartoons discussed their memories with the shows they were involved with.
