Little Atlas's 8th power

I just recieved #23 (in fact two copies! once again, I have ordered the same thing from two different sources #$&*! . So anyway Here is Atom Vs. Atlas a short story, in which bad ol' Count Giss has just created a little robot that has Atom's 7 powers, plus an eighth power. It is a very unconventional weapon!

This one seems full of 80s short stories, the kids are shorter than in earlier manga, almost identical to the 80s anime. Atom has a laser in his finger, which I am certain he did not have in the 50s or 60s manga or 60s anime.

Energy cassetes have replaced fuelling via backside (pg 78).

There was another story that was in the 80s anime, the Robot Vikings.


One scene has Atom wearing his head, but not hair (pg 134).

Ok., I will describe a few frames:

Giss (Guiss) is watching Atlas testing his powers, and wondering what he could do for an eighth power. He looks down from his balcony, and sees a fountain in his yard (the kind with a statue from which water flows). He is inspired! he will give Atlas a body part that Atom lacks, and it will really work!

Guiss: You have the same powers as Astro, Atlas... but I need to give you an [b]eighth power, So what do you want for the eighth? Any good ideas? Hmm... there's one of those cute Belgian pis, pee-boy statues... Wait a minute! I've got an idea! I know... for your eighth power Atlas, I'll make it possible for you to pee! Just a simple mechanical alteration here and you'll be able to pee on your enemies while flying overhead, Atlas... and they'll blow up when hit![/b]
