Does anyone think the Siren and Madman versions of Astroboy are different or are they the same?

I bought the Madman version of Astroboy recently, but it didn't work well on my computer. It worked OK on the TV/ DVD player. I thought it was good that you can now get Astroboy on DVD. However, the picture quality is not that good. Is that how it is supposed to be?

It's the same series and dub, just a different episode order. I think the Madman DVDs have better picture quality than the Siren release.

In what way do you think the picture quality isn't that good? Like does it look grainy?
There are lots of screenshots from the DVDs here if you want a comparison:

Thanks for the Link, Dr Frag!
The photos are really cute! I guess I think the video was poor quality because I am comparing it to today's cartoons. But overall I think the quality is good. I was just wondering if there was any difference in the quality of the Siren VHS version and the Madman DVD version. I tried the DVD version on my computer and the sound was not working very well. But it worked well on my TV.

The sound doesn't work well on my computer either, but neither does the sound of any DVD I put in it! Especially when there is music and a lot of background noise. I don't know why, but my computer is getting old, so maybe my sound card isn't quite what it should be.

As for the quality of the video itself, I find it amazing, but then I watch very few cartoons nowadays and I'm not picky at all. I guess I just don't know it any other way! :)

Interestingly, I recorded the 2003 series from the TV and the quality of the screenshots I get from it is baaaaaaaaaaaad. I have to shrink them a lot to get a good quality. But it looks fine on TV. Maybe the commercial version would allow me to get better screenshots.

From what I read here and there though, I think the quality of the Madman version is better than the Siren version, who had some shadows effect or something. But I've never seen it myself.

They've obviously done some digital enhancement on the lines and colour. They also re-made the opening and closing sequences from a version without credits (the opening title and the fonts are slightly different in the Madman release).
