I suppose you are referencing my last post. I am from France, although I live in Luxembourg.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

Of course, an outstanding number of French people have horrible spellings on forums, so I suppose you understand why I was litterally rolling on the floor when reading the complainsThe first ones to post the complains seemed to genuinely ignore that it was a spelling corrector, they thought it was a modification from the website developer and didn't see the point

Now this is funny!
I have to admit I also thought it was a special feature on a forum until I realized I was stuck with this on two different forums. I have two problems with this... 1) as if nobody could write in more than one's browser default language
and 2) I find it actually more difficult to read myself, which could potentially lead to more mistakes. I do not need this in French and I don't think I need it in English either since I feel it's my grammar that needs improvement, not my spelling.
So... do you know how I could deactivate this?
I searched but found nothing, and I really, really hate this feature.- tonigirl1000

I haven't this feature enabled because Firefox can't upgrade itself on my system (I chose to run it without administrative privileges). According to the website I was referring to, you must go to this section: "Outils ==> Modules Complémentaires ==> Désactiver/Désinstaller" which would normally translate in English as "Tools ==> Complementary Modules ==> Deactivate/Uninstall"

Thanks. I had looked there and unfortunately, I do not have any spelling module listed.
