Uh, hmm. I'm not so sure about that; I have seen very few episodes of the 60's series, and even fewer with Jetto in them (and I haven't seen the Japanese version at all, barring the very first and very last episodes of this series), so it's difficult for me to make a complete assessment of his character (heck, I was using his manga appearance as a reference, and I haven't even read enough of that to be sure- just some first impressions of his manga series debut that I found online).

It doesn't help that I've never even seen what you're talking about (I've never even heard of two of those things).

As I said, those robot characters are often misinterpreting figures of speech. I think that focusing on them, rather than on that characteristic, misses the point.

Though I will make an example, Maxwell Smart tells Hymie to hop to it, expecting him to simply proceed with the plan. Instead, Hymie hops around.

Heheh, I've never seen that in Cobalt. But isn't that a common AI issue in science fiction? Taking things way too seriously and/or literally?

As I stated, I was not certain that Cobalt exhibited this flaw; if he does, I am nearly certain his debut episode will have it.

Well, he DID use the expression "lose my head" in a very literal sense, but his facial expression indicated that he was joking to himself. I dunno about the Japanese version, though.

Incidentally, you happened to make a list a short while ago about Tenma's additional appearances throughout the show. Would it be possible to do the same for Cobalt? I'm more concerned about the English episodes he appears in, but if you can't list those, then that's fine. I DO know that he showed up a lot more often in the Japanese series than the English, though (a fact that greatly disappoints me).
