I used to want to be an elementary school classroom teacher, but now I want to teach just English and be a manga artist and writer instead.
I joined this forum in late 2013 when I was 15 going on 16. Ignore my oldest posts, they embarrass me so much that I've considered permanantly leaving the forum more than once. I've grown out of my fangirling phase over Black Jack, Atom and Uran ages ago but the memories still embarrass me at times...
Though, I try to be more open-minded about it and accept it as an "interesting stage of my life".

When I was little, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I was very interested in animals when I was a little kid; I was influenced from watching a lot of nature shows and reading a lot of books that had animals in them. I wanted to help and work alongside animals. Even though I still like animals, I stop being interested in taking on a job that involved animals as I got older.
For a long time I didn't know what to do with myself. From Grade 6 to 9, I resigned to following my mom’s wishes of getting into business. However, when I was in grade 10, I realized that my love for playing video games could be made into a career. I wanted to be a game designer. As a result I took programming in Grades 11 and 12. But at the same time I was taking a number of history courses and a World Issues Course. I feel that these courses helped me mature and I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didn't take these courses.
When I went to University, I wanted to major in Programming. However, I didn't like the learning environment of those classes. I was already stressed out learning how to live on my own and what made matters worse was that I didn't enjoy going to my classes so I ended up quitting my programming and math classes. I started to consider taking history but I was worried that it wouldn't work out, like how it did for Programming. However, I kept at it and I had a high mark in that history course so I was able to get into the History Program.
When I got in the history program I felt more confident about myself. It took a long time to know what kind of job I’d like. I’m still searching but I have a less of a negative outlook on it. I learned that many people in the history field tried many different kinds of jobs, so I’m not so focused on finding that one dream job. Instead I’m looking for multiple options to see where I end up.

I want to be a computer engineer. Although, I only graduated high school last year. I am still young, so this would be "what I want to be" not "wanted", not yet anyway. When I was really young I wanted to be many stupid things, so that did not count. I think I wanted to be a pilot at one point..., what was I thinking?

Well I never wanted to be a pilot as a profession, but I always did want to learn how to fly an airplane (which I DID, I have a 'single engine land' private pilot's license). I haven't flown for about 20 years now, gave it up after my daughters were born, but it's a skill I'm glad to have experienced. Kinda gave me an idea how Astro might feel flying about under his own power and control (Aerobatics == Awesome!).
