Robot Boy Rocks!

I guess RobotBoy is kinda like Astro Boy. There are many similarities about them both.

I watched it and its more like a reboot of Jetter Mars. Think about it . A good robotic scientist who wants the "robot boy" to be a good contributing member of society while the bad scientist "Dr.Kamikaze, aka stereotypical Asian villain" wants him as a warmaking machine to rule the world.

The three friends of his are not unlike the 2003 and 1960 series but nonetheless, it might appear as a love child aesthetically between Astro Boy and Jenny , but in the core of it a love child between Jetter Mars and XJ9.

I don't see Astro as much as I see a watered down Jetter Mars since Jetter does pursue what he like rather than what he ought to do.

Seeing as Tezuka abandoned Jetter Mars and since the creators of Robot Boy revived the basic idea and plot and thus him, I see the show as a reboot of the story as well as a homage to Tezuka's anime/Teenage Robot.

Yeah, so is he more like Jetter Mars then Astro Boy, or do you think it's 50% 50%? Cuz RobotBoy has some of Astro's powers and what BigDog said that two scientist what him to be bad or good.

I saw very few episodes, so I cannot comment on any resemblances other than physical.

I'm thinkin' 75/25 in favor of Jetter Mars. Sure there is an element of Astro in him, but in general he has more in common with Jetter Mars and Jenny from MLAATNR than Astro . Sure he has three friends , but in reality, he is very motivated selfishly than Astro though he is loyal to his owner, which neither of Tezuka's incarnations had. Interesting though that the doctor in Robotboy shares a resemblance with the one in Jetter Mars.

Yeah, I see more MLAATR in Robot Boy than Astro Boy now that I think about it.
