It's tiring to play because it's fast, or it's the learning that is tiring?

I've never gone very far in music, unfortunately. :( I would have been interested in playing the piano when I was young, but I couldn't have one, and, at the time, the other instruments didn't appeal to me as much. I think I would have been good at it, from the little I did. Not exceptionnally good as in being able to earn a living from it, of course, but good enough to play interesting pieces. :)

I am still interested, but I am lacking the time right now. Perhaps when I'll retire...

It's tiring to play because it's so long.

Yeah. I tried playing piano myself, but I never got very far with it. I didn't like having to practice two instruments at once, and the fingers were really hard for me since I had never learned base cleff before.

Hey, whatever floats your boat! :)

I'd love to learn to play an instrument. I like piano and violin (and both the music-lover in me and the nerd in me likes the sounds of an ocarina... :3 minus the tiny, high-pitched ones, though... :X ). I tried to mess around with an electronic keyboard a few times, but it's very hard... (that, and it sounded wrong- no reverb, sound only coming out as long as a key was being pressed, and just sounding so /fake/ ) I feel like I'm too old to learn to play an instrument. There was recorder in elementary school (I was home-schooled throughout middle school and high school), but I sucked at that, and it's been many years since I played (the recorder I used technically belonged to the school, but I think I ended up taking it home with me at the end of the year by mistake, anyway, eheh... ^-^; I never figured out how to clean it...).

I was seriously considering getting myself an ocarina. There was this dragon shaped one I saw, and it was sooooo pretty!

LBF, If I'm not too old to try to learn the Piano (60) I'm sure you can learn an instrument. Actually I was taking Piano lessons a few years ago but stopped when I was out of work for a while. I still mostly remember how to read music from when I took guitar lessons in High School. For a while I had memorized a melody from Beethoven's 7th symphony and could play that by heart. I'd really like to find the sheet music to the Astro Boy them from the 1963 show (I forget the Composer's name).

I'm sure you can find sheet music online.
