New series DVD set
Wait Jim, Don't leave us.
Let me clarify what's up with the dvds. First of all the Right Stuff, a anime video company in the U.S., does have the dvd and video rights to the 60's Astro, but can't release it, thanks to a deal with Tezuka Produtions in Japan, until an Astro movie is released, schedualed for this year. The same is true for the 80's series in the U.S.

The Madman anime company is Austrailian. I have their 80's dvd box set.

I also have the entire 60's series in the raw Japanese, no bootlegs, the official uncut version from Japan, all 193 eps. from '63 to '66 in 6 box sets. Sorry no subs. and you'll need a region free dvd player for them and the Ausie dvds.

But if and when this movie is finally released, we may see similar releases in the U.S.
As far as Kimba is concerned, half the series, 26 episodes, has already been released in the U.S., no word on wheather or not the remaining 26 will be released.

I hope some of these dvds will do.

"Revival of topic." Says the Phoenix.
I found some new information on the new series set, I just might get it now.

In the article it mentions .. " In addition to the missing episodes, there is a documentary feature on the remaking of the series."
That interests me, but is it the Japanese remaking or the American remaking?..
I saw the ad in my BestBuy flyer for 49.99 canadian..March 29th. I just might get this. Im hoping more information will come out before the day it's released.
If anyone finds information, keep updating in this post, ok?

That article is fine, but still doesn't say wheather it's edited or not. Ohh well, I ordered it anyway and will find out in a couple weeks. I also have the series in Japanese with subs., so I can still watch that if the dub sucks. The author of the article made a mistake in saying that Osamu Tezuka should be commended for keeping the series true to the original after all these years. Umm, well Tezuka died in 1989, it's Tezuka Productions that should be commended for not selling out like Disney did after Disney died.
I hope Tezuka Prod. never sells out. Keep it real.
