Copyright issues on scans/scanlation sites are more common than you think, and there's been an increase of these.

Heck, it's even affecting works that haven't been licensed anywhere else.

Yes, on Youtube you get stuff like "the soundtrack has been disabled as it is unauthorised" and stuff like that.

Most of the time it's not the companies who remove the videos, other times it's just random people or youtube themselves.

Likewise with scanlations, it's mostly just people deciding "Um I just realized we shouldn't be doing this."

Yes it still happens, and things being removed also still happens. It cannot be helped.

Yeah

On one side, the piracy scans and disks provide a free way to enjoy entertainment online without actually buying and its "instant", meaning you can watch it whenever you want - 'til it gets deleted, that is.

But on the other hand, there is a reason as to why people actually make real films (Disney & Dreamworks) and stuff: money ($$$!!). And if people are just stealing it off for free, then there won't be enough profit to cover the movie budget, so whats the point anymore!?

It's not always about money. Sometimes even things that gets official free screening, well it'd still be illegal to put it onto the internet.

Piracy will pretty much always exist (or until the consequences become so high no-one wants to do it any more) and so will piracy issues. Normally people go up onto youtube expecting free films, and as long as there is a demnad people (or even organisations) will try to get them on there.
