To which I'd add Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Schubert, and Chopin.

Yeah . . . and might as well toss in Holst (The PLANETS?! Yeah! :w00t :) , and Dvorak (New World Symphony :heart :) , and I'm ashamed I forgot Brahms (the German Req breaks your heart - like the Rach #2!)

Imma classical music nerd!

Just don't care for Elvis too much. :shifty: He had a good voice, though.

Yes Brahms (the Hungarian Rhapsodies). I think they used part of the planets (Mars) in one of the Astro Boy episodes (I think the 1980 version). Episode one of the 1963 version used Beethoven's 5th for the 'creation' scene. IIRC, in 1983 they used Liszt's "Les Preludes" in the English dubbed version, but is seems they used Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra" in the Japanese version.

I forgot to add Tchaikovsky. Do you remember the movie "The Right Stuff"? The theme to that was ripped right out of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. Oh and Eric Carmen stole the melody for "All By Myself" from the Rach Concerto #2, and the melody for "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" from Rach's symphony #2, third movement. One more thing, the theme for the movie "Somewhere in Time" (Christopher Reeves) was from Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini".

The classics are EVERYWHERE!

P.D.Q Bach! My preferences are Oldies, esp. Doo-Wopp, Classical or should I say symphonic, & classic rock. I like the songs whose lyrics are actually sung such that they are understandable.

The Beatles, Bump of Chicken, Wolfsheim, The Police, Owl City and Daft Punk.

I do love classical music though. I can’t name most musicians or songs of the top of my head but I do recognize the really famous ones.

Another fan of classical music here! :D I'm usually remaining within well known composers and pieces, so I don't think I have very original finds to share. ;)
