Okay, here I am trying to get to your level, Astroboy experts.

In which episode and series is the scene of Astro playing with the "cross"?  Same question about him sleeping in O'Shay's car....  please.

Hi Astro forever,

Astro was first given that cross toy in Japanese episode 15 "A I" and he plays with it twice. Then in a later episode he plays with it some more. I'll let you know when I find out which one.

The car sleep episode was in Japanese episode 2 "Robot Ball". That's right not "Rocket Ball" as in the English dub. The name was changed probably to give Astro a catch-fraise "Let's Rocket", like in the 60's English dub he would say "Let's Go, Go, Go". That's ok, but as far as I know, In Japan he never had a catch-fraise, in the anime or manga, and he doesn't really need one, does he?

Thank you very much, Atoman. I'll try to watch them when I'll be done with my urgent need to see again the 80's series... I also have many 2003 episodes left to discover, but I'm lucky enough to get 4 new episodes each week - yay! :wahah:

As for the catch phrase, I totally agree that he doesn't need one. It leaves me a bit perplexed every time I hear him say "C'est partiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"!

One thing he did say a lot in Japanese was "Yosh". The o is pronounced long vowel, not short Y-ohh-sh. I think there's an i at the end, but it's silent. It basically means "All right then" or "Bring it on". Princess Knight said this a lot too.

I always envisioned him in the Ahnod pose, where he steps out of the elevator, & S C falls on her butt. But instead of saying,
"come w/ me if you want to live"

he says, "come w/ me if you want to have fun."

Well you could use catch phrases like...

"You better call Macco when I get done with you."

"I'm done talking, now I'm pounding."

"Time for you to learn how to fly!"

I think Bill Lou's character in the 60's had the best catch lines of the three english translations, at least the most humorous.
"You guys have some serious Mommy issues."
