I just watched ELV91 (#100 I think) which was the xmas episode. I think the only one where Uran (Astrogirl) wears slacks! Also Astro is dressed till the very end when he rips off his clothes to battle a tank. Then he appears dressed and undressed in the same scene at a dinner party (once again they can't keep things consistent!). Since Cobalt was introduced in both the Japanese and ELV episode orders BEFORE this one, why is he missing?

BTW the theme of the boy living in the robot house reminded be of Tezuka's Phoenix 2772 a bit.

Lol. Yeah, I remember that! I laughed when I noticed it. That also happend in another episode. (Can't remember the name. I think it was called angel island or something.) Where astro was dressed up like a human boy so they wouldn't find out he was a robot. one minute, he's standing there with his disguise on, then the next, he's undressed Then he has his disguise back on again. Wonder why they never noticed that while making it.

I never seen Pheonix before. Is it anygood? (Just asking...)

There are many such inconsistencies in this series, usually resulting from extensive use of the BANK SYSTEM. Watch Robot School (Astroboy goes to School) & take careful note when the villain dumps the sculpture into the furnace.

There are a lot of inconsistencies but it's fun. I find it charming.

To quote good old Bob Ross "there's no such thing as a making a mistake, it's just a happy accident" (when applied to art, mind you).

They also made mistakes from 'forgetting' to finish a 'Cel' for example in one shot in the '80's series part of Astro's hair above his ear was never filled in, and in another shot heads were missing!

I can't remember which episode it exactly was, but I do remember commenting on it and laughing quite a bit.

i dont know why i like him more than i like 2003 epsilon, maybe because it was interesting to see a robot taking care of humans

I liked his style, but he's not one of my favorite minor characters. (Too bad he had to be destroyed though. )

Wonder why Epsilon was switched to a female in the 2003 series? (Astro boy 2003 and their sex changes! XD)
