It's actually a natural occurrence for some couples to just be fed up of each other after some time, sometimes where it actually does lead to a divorce. In fact, it is unhealthy if couples never have any conflicts, because they usually will.

Everyone has a reason, it's just the exact reasoning of Tenma and Hoshie isn't really elaborated on, but can be easy enough to theorize.
