An interesting place to work
Can you imagine working at the following Company?
It has a little over 500 employees with the following statistics:
29 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
117 have bankrupted at least two businesses
3 have been arrested for assault
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 are current defendants in lawsuits
In 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving
Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up?
It's the 535 members of your United States Congress. The same group that perpetually cranks out hundreds upon hundreds of new laws designed to keep the rest of us in line.
This is an interesting job.

I would disregard the 1st & 3rd itesm because anyone can accuse anyone else of anything without providing even a shred of evidence. As regards the rest, I want to know if the any of the guys who "were stopped for drunk driving" were also among those "arrested for shoplifting" or "arrested on drug-related charges," etc.

It seems that people elected to represent us do it in the unexpected way. Where we would expect them to show virtue, they finally are the same as everybody: not virtuous
In my country, the President is a convicted cheater and liar, although he never went before a trial because of his immunity (there is no impeachment procedure in my country)
The minister of the budget, while annoucing the budget would have to be reduced, rent a luxurious appartment for a very high price, paid by the government <_< When it was known, he was "asked" to leave his place to someone else, who happened to be employed at the head of a big firm. For that the new minister was offered an indemnity to leave his job, who happened to be worth about 14 years of renting for the appartment that started the scandal
Yeah, they are all virtuous <_< At least we can laugh about it
What? I have lost faith in politics? How can you say that?

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
