Could Astro Have Prevented The Titanic Disaster?

Postby LYScienceLover » 15 years ago

I was just having my shower and I started thinking about the great disaster that happened to the famous unsinkable White Star liner, the Titanic. Since I am such a big fan of Astro Boy, I of course started thinking of how he could have helped out if he was on the ship the night it struck the iceberg and sank. I have come up with two ways in which he could have single-handily prevented the Titanic from hitting the iceberg in the first place!

Option #1 Astro could use his searchlight eyes to light up the iceberg when the ship is still a few miles away from it so that the ship could have enough time to turn completely and miss the iceberg altogether! You see, one of the reasons the Titanic sank in the first place was that it was to dark to see the iceberg and there was no light from the moon to light it up and also there were no waves so the iceberg had no waterline. Oh and the Titanic's lookouts had no binoculars. So by using one of his most simple of powers, Astro could have easily prevented the Titanic disaster.

Option #2 Another way Astro could have prevented the Titanic disaster is that after spotting the iceberg with his searchlight eyes he could fly over to the iceberg and smash it to pieces with his 100 thousand horsepower. In fact, in the first episode of the 80's color series Astro does exactly that. So this option seems the most likely since it has firm proof from an episode of one of the three anime series.

So what are your thoughts about all of this? I totally think that Astro could have prevented the Titanic disaster.

That's kinda interesting. Actually I was watching the first 80's episode of Astro Boy when I was 10, and when Astro saved everyone from those huge iceburgs, I imeadiatly thought of the Titanic. Later, when I saw the episode uneditted, it was revealed that Atlas made those iceburgs.
You're not a joke, you fit right in!
So shake it off, and give a grin. Don't be afraid to stand your ground! Crazy, noisy BIZARRE Town!

Question is....would he do it? If he traveled back in time, what would he have changed by saving the ship?

He could also use his rocket boots to swing the Titanic around the berg. Her rudder was way too small to start with.

There would have been no tragedy and therefore, no need for a movie!
