Let's insanely hope it's not like a Resident Evil game getting turned into a film. Where the only thing that link the characters are their names and they're not really them, just people pretending to be them ya know? Sure they're actors but that's besides the point.
I suspect that the plot will only be loosely similar and that it'll be a family film (Illumination Entertainment is a family entertainment studio). Wouldn't be surprised if it used completely different characters. Despite that, I do think it may be decent as a film because the producer has been quite successful as the former president of Fox Animation and now the trend is continuing with his new studio. Let's just hope his Live-Action output is going to be as good as his animation.

I have to hope that the movie retains the wide range of races in the characters. Otherwise, I've got a lot of faith that this movie is going to be at least good*.
*Unlike the proposed remake of the MW movie, which deviated dramatically from Tezuka's original in the first place.
