who has heard of MW or WM?

it was after Mass and we went to Borders to buy books,I found a manga written by Tezuka titled "WM or MW",which is considered Tezuka's darkest work,i plan to get it and tell you guys about it, but who here has heard of it?

MW yes, but not sure about WM... are you sure you're not confusing it with something else?

Anyway, MW is NOT something I would recommend to people under 18.

i've read through and its sounds interesting its 16+ but i will be turning 16 this next week my dad said he'll get it buts its a hope,I also saw "Ayako" another manga by Tezuka too here only at Barnes & Nobles and looks interesting but you can get both books on Amazon under 20$ these books are on my birthday list aside from Black Jack

but i'm not sure what either of them are about can you fill me in there?

Ayako is definitely something I would not be recommending to anyone under 18, regardless of what rating it says.

I'd explain what they are, but it might be a bit inappropriate. It's probably better that you look them up yourself.

Reading through MW these books and the art seem out of character for Tezuka but then again i've read only so many of the Magna he's drew

Tezuka didn't just drew 'cute' art. He had multiple styles.

I could get then more locally if I wanted to, but I don't want to. And I say they are 18+ because of the mature content in them. And even then, it could potentially be traumatizing for all I know.

I have both MW and Ayako. Now, just because it says 16+ doesn't mean you'll be able to handle what's inside either book. I got MW for Christmas when I was fifteen, and while some of it didn't bother me, a lot of other things haunted me for a few days. (Note that I also read the whole thing on Christmas day in only a few hours.) I'm almost eighteen now, and the stuff MW that jarred me is now not as bad. Still horrible, but not can't-sleep-Yuki-will-eat-me terrifying. You'll likely get over the shock of the horror scenes of this one faster than those of Ayako.

Ayako, however...I read it all in one day again, mostly because I couldn't put it down. I'd highly recommend it...to someone much older than you. It grabs onto you, like a facehugger from Alien. If I just wrote "Holy crap. Holy crap." for three paragraphs, that would be my whole reaction to the book.

And by the way, when I bought Ayako, the cashier asked me if I was sixteen or older. Now, I've been going to that shop for four years, the dude knows me well, but he was obligated by contract to ask younger purchasers of Ayako specifically.


Fauna's Quick Parental Guide (AKA things you might get freaked out by)

MW: Beastiality, pedophilia, graphic violence, nudity, rape, torture. Homosexuality is prevalent, with intimate scenes (mostly) consensual, but be aware in case you don't like the thought of gay characters.

Ayako: Incest, graphic sexual imagery, nudity, ungodly amounts of sex, morbid themes, detailed violence (a man is shot in the head, and the impact is given its own page).

The dude who owns the shop is a wise man. But yeah, it looks like I guessed right, the two books are quite... there.

I have a very ****** up mind myself from the amount of crap I've seen, but even I don't think I would be able to handle both books. Even then, the sexual content is very unappealing to me personally. Although the guy getting shot in the head does sound interesting. =P
