How about imaginating different roles for several Tetsuwan Atom characters or different scenarios?
a) What if Tobio don't die, but Atom get built anyway?
b) What if Dr. Tenma never abandom Atom and neither force him to do mean things?
c) What if Uran become more heroic, regardless of not having all of Atom abilities and being really helpful at times?
d) What if Garon appears as a earthly robot of mass destruction which was stolen by both Skunk, Kinsankaku and Count Warpurgis?
e) What if Pluto returns as a ally for Atom to the point of helping him against more dangerous enemies (not quite explored in the 2003 version)?
f) What if Gesicht and Delta appears as different characters with different roles?
g) What if Shadow was the one who wanted Atom to be a robot overlord rather than Dr. Tenma?

Actually, I'd like to see Zoran take on more responsibility, especially since it would be good development for her character.

I like the idea of Astro being built while Tobio is alive, but i'm not sure what kind of story you could get from that.

Uran being more heroic would be cool to see, maybe even if there was a time where she was the one to save Atom (somehow), just a thought

That's what I'm trying to accomplish with the fanfic "Robot Sister Uran", also Uran have more responsability in that story since she'll prevent Tobio's death.
But, at same time, Tobio may have to save her from trouble and despite being only human.

Also, I think it would be cool if Uran played the role of heroine at times and solving several cases by using her super strenght and even a weapon like a laser sword or a special handgun when necessary.

I'm not sure if Tezuka production would try character development like that, but at least we can try it with our fanfics, right?

You know, there's a great fanfiction with the title "Copy" on fanfictions.net
I feel in love with the story about how Toby never actually died... It's really really sad though... I even cried. It's based on the 2009 Astro Boy and its totally worth it to read the whole thing! It's amazing!

Anyway, what if Atom had to deal with a perfect copy of himself, but utterly evil?
Also, few people drop by the fanfic section, it feels lonely.

What if (in the aftermath of the 2003 series) Zoran and Astro bought Tenma a puppy to keep him company?

Maybe, I was just thinking it might be kind of cute. If he doesn't want to get too close to people, he can start with animals. That's my logic going into that, but then again that is my opinion.

What if:
a) Dr. Tenma was also supportive of Uran and as well teaching her to not underestimate her own abilities?
b) Dr. Tenma had created a robot rooster as a communication device between himself (if far away or hidding) with Atom or the Ministry of Science?
