I am the only one who thinks Abullah to be a hypocrite?

So, I was thinking about the previous versions of "Greatest Robot in The World" ark and I concluded that Dr. Abullah was quite of a hypocrite.
He created a robot with 1.000.000 horsepower for a greedy sultan who went killing other robots.

Then when Pluto learned his lesson that just fighting was not a way of life, Abullah sent him to his death by forcing him to fight the mindless Bora which had 2.000.000 horsepower.
Dr. Abullah then revealed himself and said that he created both Pluto and Bora to show to the Sultan that horsepower wasn't everything and a robot should be noble and righteous.

But, considering Abullah's action by making Pluto as a robot killer and sending him to kill other robots, he had NO right of talking about "noble and righteous".

Abullah's own actions were NOT noble and righteous at all...
He was completely remorseless and unfeeling after Pluto died, so all of his argument was completely contradictory if compared to his actions.

It would be much more reasonable for him telling to the Sultan that Pluto had learned his lesson than sending him to his death and coming with a argument talking about being "noble and righteous" when he was not being noble and righteous at all.

Anyway, who would ease the dispair of the children which lost Epsilon at all?
Abullah was so hypocrite that he don't even considered their suffering.

Guess even Urasawa realized that Dr. Abullah was a hypocrite that he made his version of the character pretty hypocrite as well.

Abullah said that he felt bad for the orphan children who lost their parents because of the war, but even so used a orphan child to lure Epsilon to a trap which costed his life.

Ironic, isn't?

Tezuka, like many good artists, love to explore the human condition. Many humans are hypocritical even though they think they are achieving good. It makes sense that Tezuka would explore this with robots.

Too bad that Atom don't blamed Abullah for his actions.
He made a lot of people to suffer and when Pluto learned his way, Abullah just sent him for his death.
I really hated that character, wanted to teach about values and morals, but used and sent others to their deaths...

I do not think Abra even considered this problem; he only wanted to show the Sultan that regardless of how strong your guy is, there will always be someone stronger; therefore the contest is, if not meaningless, it is at least futile. Yes, it does seem inconsistent, but was using the story to convey this message to boys who, by nature, were competitive, & striving to outperform one-another. It could be he had a specific incident in mind when he wrote it. Pluto learned too late, about friendship. I think that the 2003 version made this more the focus than other ones did. Competition is important, but not to the exclusion of all else, especially friendship.

Although he wanted to show that, he was still heartless.
He could just say to the Sultan that Pluto reffused to fight, because he learned that just fighting was not everything.
And Atom who was considerably weaker, was able to show Pluto that extreme power should not be missused since that power could be used to help others.

Even Dr. Ochanomizu who was a human was in danger in his dirty plot.

I would like to Atom realize that and tell him out that he had no right to talk about morals when everything which he did was making others suffer to achieve it.

And yep, the 2003 series was much better.
We had a much gentler version of Pluto and they don't even made a foolish like making Uran pose as her brother and try to fight a enemy stronger than her who even had a giant arsenal to destroy armies of enemies if he wished to.

It was much better for Pluto even not considering to harm Uran or try kidnap her.
Also, by not fighting in that case, Uran showed to Pluto that robots could had something better than fighting to make a living.

But then again, hope they don't use that hypocrite of Abullah in a possible new show.

I have read the manga, but forgot the details. Was he aware of what his master wanted to do with this robot? All I remember is the 1980 series, where he said that he hadn't realized what Pluto would be used for.

Yes, sure, he could have done a better job at protecting the other robots. Perhaps he felt that if the Sultan didn't see the results for himself, then he would simply make another attempt with another engineer and another robot?

Doing the wrong to teach good things is pretty contradictory...

I feel bad about how tragic Pluto was in the two original series.

In the end he was just a victim of both his creator and that greedy Sultan...

And yes, he was aware, after all the Sultan said right away for what Pluto should be used.

Meanwhile, Abullah built the heartless Bora to defeat Pluto later on.

Abullah's attitude was too extreme and cruel.

No concern about the little children who lost Epsilon?

One could think as them as helpless and starving with his demise...
