Robots are shown time and again sparking and sputtering as they are ordered to harm humans while their prime directive forbids the harming of humans,(see robbie robot in forbidden planet) Dr. frag meant that even his calc would not self destruct when overloaded. In the post that you quote, Fafner said nothing that took either side in the robots burning up when ordered to do something contrary to a prime directive. He did ask you to show the relationship betweeen "a calculator going up in smoke and the 'diversion of the flood,"
