I'm currently shopping around for some blue el wire for the chest door (LED wire powered by a battery pack)... I'll post pics of the progress! It'd be really fun to do Astro's 2009 Movie outfit (white and red shirt, pants) but I'm not sure if that'd be as recognizable. Maybe with the butt guns..? Anyway, thanks so much, everyone!

I've seen her around on Cosplay.com and I love her costumes! I'm not sure, though... I would like to take advantage of using my natural hair whenever I can (hehe, less wigs to haul to cons). I might experiment with that if I've got enough time and budget before Otakon comes around.
Really? I thought your hair was perfect as it was, it was very Astro-like but also as natural as it could be done. Now of course there's nothing wrong with experimenting with different things, you seem to have a talent to make it work anyway.

Wow, a chest door would be quite something!

Thanks guys! :3
Avatargirl- Hehe, it's funny you should mention that; I actually get mistaken for being Japanese quite frequently, including on a trip I took with my comics class to Japan in Nov/Dec 2007. I had taught myself enough conversational Japanese to get by, but could understand more than I could actually say. The very first day, we were at a museum and the guide there approached me and started saying something along the lines of "Excuse me, could you please tell your classmates that they may sketch and draw the exhibits, but to try and keep it to only a few minutes so they don't obstruct traffic? Thank you." All I could say back was a very stilted, unusual sounding "Hai. Wakarima****a..." ("Yes, I understand.") XDD;;; She looked at me like I was crazy! I think she thought I was the translator for the group or something, but I've lived my entire life in America and neither of my parents are of Asian descent! I also encountered many fellow Western tourists who did not think I could understand what they were saying, and I surprised them when I said hello and introduced myself to make conversation, lol!
Astro Forever- Thanks for the encouragement! If I do the head-piece, it may have to come for AWA instead of Otakon... but I've got the El wire on its way! I just ordered some yesterday~
Hmmm, maybe this weekend I will try to modify a white teeshirt for his movie shirt. If anything it'd be something fun to wear anyhoo.
Thanks again!
