Oh yeah those are showreels, some of the ex-workers at imagi have put a whole bunch of videos to find a job. It's cool because you can find things that weren't in the movie, along with animation tests and different dialogue. I love finding the ones on prototype Astro the most (he's shown a few times in that Ken reel).

...After browsing youtube, I was surprised by all the Astro Boy animation tests were on there... (most of them portfolios - likely due to everyone from Imagi looking for jobs).

Some of this stuff is pretty neat to see before they add the details. I may not have liked the movie, but I can appreciate hard work...and CG animation. :3 (I saw how they had to draw every individual frame of animation for the colossi in Shadow of the Colossus - BY HAND. Pure brilliance...*sigh* )

I LOLed at Astro playing with the DS. Anyone else notice that the scene with him punching The Peacekeeper had him in his classic look?

Yep I've seen that with a few videos. Sometimes he has the class costume others he's just shirtless with the pants. One time they'd sprayed the shirt onto his skin, just goes to show Imagi felt uncomfortable animating a kid in underpants. Japan would've been veeeeery offended lol.
