Set after the end of the original anime (although this was slightly re-made when it was compiled in a volume), it involves the adventures of Astro and an adventorous extraterrestrial insect-humanoid called Scala, who rescues him from the inner depths of space. To make a long story short, they get back to Earth, but landing on the world of 1967, and as the story advances, Scala (who has turned herself into a human) grows tired of the humans, so he - and that's the point of the caption - shrinks herself to live as an insect from the Earth.
