48 hours of sheer horror

Postby jeffbert » 14 years ago

This weekend, TCM & a few other channels will play continuous horror films through Sunday; in fact, a few of them have already been doing so. My DVR is already at over 70% full, so, I must attend to it to make room for more!

Yes, indeed! My favorite actor Vincent Price will have a few on TCM Sunday:

1:30 PM Tower Of London (1962)
A hunchback murders his way to the British throne. Cast: Vincent Price, Michael Pate, Joan Freeman. Dir: Roger Corman. BW-80 mins, TV-14, Letterbox Format

3:00 PM Tingler, The (1959)
A scientist discovers an organism that lives on fear. Cast: Vincent Price, Judith Evelyn, Darryl Hickman. Dir: William Castle. BW-82 mins, TV-PG, CC, Letterbox Format

4:30 PM Mad Magician, The (1954)
Betrayed by his manager, a master magician uses his skills to seek revenge. Cast: Vincent Price, Mary Murphy, Eva Gabor. Dir: John Brahm. BW-73 mins, TV-PG

6:15 PM House Of Wax (1953)
A scarred sculptor re-populates his ravaged wax museum with human corpses. Cast: Vincent Price, Phyllis Kirk, Carolyn Jones. Dir: Andre de Toth. C-88 mins, TV-PG

8:00 PM House On Haunted Hill (1959)
A millionaire offers total strangers a fortune to spend the night in a haunted house. Cast: Vincent Price, Richard Long, Carol Ohmart. Dir: William Castle. BW-75 mins, TV-14, CC, Letterbox Format

At this moment, my DVR is filled to 80% of capacity, with 1/2 the weekend still to come, so I must make my PC time rather short, today.

I love halloween. I saw there's going to be a reaaaaally good zombie film on one of the discovery channels next Friday at 9 or 10pm. Reminded me of 28 days later and Resident Evil so I really wanna see it. _

Urgh my brother saw...Saw (lol) last night. Frankly the first film grossed me out and I don't want to see the rest. I like horror with zombies and ghosts, not human torture that makes you look away in disgust. yuck o_-;;;;

Oh, and I'll be seeing Resident Ecil 3D finally this week *_*

Watch the film "Event Horizon"...if you dare! Its about people torturing themselves and gouging their eyes out, leaving blood on the face. Its DISGUSTING!

I watched it in the theater, but do not recall any of that. :D Of course, that was when it was in the theaters, years ago, so I may have forgotten such details.

AMC is well-known for heavily editing content; while I will record this series, I am not hopeful of anything worthy of this name.

BTW, Karloff was the real walking dead, a man fried in the chair, but revived. :p
