He was a unique master of comics and animation. Funny thing is many people believe that nobody beats Walt Disney for quality of animation. Little do people realize that there was at least one worthy equal to Disney. Tezuka!

According to a book I've read they did meet once.

I think it was when Tezuka was visiting the US and chatted with Disney. Walt said he was very impressed with Osamu's 1960's Astroboy television series.

Tezuka always cherished the memory of that meeting. Unfortunately Walt wasn't destined to live very long after that, so I don't think he ever had much opportunity to appreciate much of Osamu's other works.
